When I was asked to be a part of the cast of AVENGED I had no Idea of what lay ahead in my life. I had recievd the script for AVENGED and thought it was briliant. The after meeting the direector, I knew that I wanted to work on the film. I was audition for the lead character in the film as the orgiginal actor had been challenged with some personal life circumstances, the circumstances were not in any way negative, but he was unsure he would be able to coninue working on the film. Well, production had worked it out with him and I would not be playing the role. All good though, he is a fantastic actor and like all things ... it would work out for everyone. I was not to play the lead, and I would not be involved in the film. Two weeks later the prodcution called and asked me to join the cast in a supporting role as another actor had dropped out of the prodcution. I said YES emphatically. It was the idea of doing a great film, shooting in the desert, and working with this amazing team of people that propelled me to move forward. That was how I got into AVENGED.

Two years later I was called by one of the prodcucers on AVENGED and he connected me to a prodcuer in COLOMBIA. He was asked if there was an actor he would recommend that could handle the extreme conditiond of the AMAZON and deliver. I was among, what I assume, a few actor options. The consideration of my involvemnet was propelled further with my image looking similar to RICHARD EVAN SCHULTESE, the scientist for whom my character was based. All the pieces were lining up. Then I spoke with the director CIRO GUERRA on skype, he was moved by my passion and within a few days it was agreed that I was to begin filming EMBRACE OF THE SERPENT in COLOMBIA.

Flying into Mitu in July of 2014, My thoughst wondered. I knew that this would be either one of the greatest experiences of my life or else I would get kidnapped, drown, or fall off of a cliff. Gratefully, it was the the first of the the options. And yes, one of the most life affirming and validating adventures in my life.

An adventure that continues.
And now the film has gone on to recieve international acclaim beginning with CANNES 2015 Art Cinema Award. The film has finally landed at festivals in the US. I have traveled to CANNES, VANCOUVER, HAMPTONS, and the beautiful MILL VALLEY CA, with the film and have enjoyed the powerful effect that the picture has on the audiences at every screening.

The journey continues and I am excited to see what comes next. I want my career and my life to be that of fantastcal and grand stories. I sit in acknowledgement that that is exactly what it has become.

Receiveing the SPECIAL JURY PRIZE at the Hamptons Internatinal Film Festival on behalf of the film and in honor of the Indigenous people of COLOMBIA.
