I am ecstatic to announce that I have been offered an exciting opportunity to teach at Camera Left /Stage Right for an amazing 4 week intensive course on Character Development. Camera Left is a fantastic multi-platform resource for actors of all levels and for all types. The studio is hosted by ASG casting, one of the top commercial casting offices in LA. As a working actor and director (in the trenches) I have noticed that there are many great classes out there; Casting Director Workshops, Audition Technique, Scene Study, Improv, etc... However, I feel that there is a shortage of classes that pay tribute to the actual CRAFT of acting- there is a limited knowledge of what makes a great craftsman. WHAT ARE THE SECRETS OF Daniel Day Lewis, Meryl Streep, Javier Bardem? How can I confidently utilize my own humanity to secure a role and then delve fully into the experience in a way that is healthy, while also contributing to my own personal growth?
I've spoken to many actors that feel they want more from their class experience. That is the purpose of the class I will be teaching at "Camera Left". My approach is unique, thorough, and utilizes the techniques of Uta Hagen, Sanford Meisner, Stanislavski and presents today's actor with the necessary tools to walk into any room with confidence. This class is also very suitable for directors that wish to learn more about the actors process and how to communicate effectively with their performers. Why am I a teaching? I love this journey. I love humanity and the job of the actor is to interpret that humanity. At the end of the day whether it be the role your playing in a script or the role your playing in the world IT IS ABOUT THE JOURNEY. I was blessed with a wonderful mentor early on in my career and now I have the honor of giving the same experience back. As a working actor and director I have an insight and an understanding that is often excluded from class structures in Los Angeles. I know and value the importance of the actor in our society, these artist are imperative to our growth as a society. This is the time to sign up or tell your friends and clients so that they can start the year off right with a focus and stable footing for 2015. We are also offering an early enrollment discount. The class is very limited so get in now! (see discount code below)
